Winter Blues

I have a bad case of the winter blues.

It is cold, dreary and has been snowing on and off.

I feel completly drained. This lack of sunshine and cold chills is making me crazy and pasty. It's a mess.

I need to go tanning and quick! I know it's not summer but damn I need to get into a tanning bed and get that summer glow already!

I know it's been awhile and it's short but...That's what's come to my mind so far...

Fragrance Review

Well I decided to do a fragrance review after posting something on a forum I'm on. Just a quick review on a few of my fragrances.

Photobucket
Versace Blue Jeans

I would say this is intermediate. It's not as light as I normally prefer my fragrances to be. But it's not overbearing. A decent fragrance for a casual settign/day. It's nice. But not something I'd wear to work, more when running errands or visiting a friend.

Photobucket
CK One Summer

I really love this one! It's citrus yet clean at the same time without a floral undertone. It isn't as light as the other two when first applied, but it's not overbearing either. It's one of those fragrances that smells good when you put it on, but smells even better as the day goes on. I love wearing it pretty much for any occasion! It's a great smell for work, but smells nice when out as well. (And as many of us know, when you're drinking and dancing and having a good time, some fragrances don't smell as fresh as they did when you stepped out of the shower before going out. This is one that does).

Photobucket
Burberry

It's nice. More of a warmer scent. Not light light. Not overbearign in heavyness. More so if you put it on after your shower in the morning the scent tends to still be noticable at the end of the day. It is nice. A more masculine aromatic smell. But I also find it can have a tendancy to cling to what you're wearing. I find it best to put some on straight out of the shower, but wait a few minutes before actually putting your clothes on. Another hint would be if putting on befoe leaving you'll be wearing a jacket (say in the fall/winter) put it on a few minutes before placign your jacket on or you risk it smelling like Burberry for a while.

Photobucket
Nautica Island Voyage

It's a light fragrence great for the summer. It has a citrus yet floral smell while still beign masculine (not girly if that makes any sense). It lasts a decent amount of time. And a little goes a long way. Very clean and light smelling. It's something I've worn to work on numerous occasions. It's longevity is good. But it's not overbearing. unlike some fragrances while it lasts long it doesn't cling. If you place this on it won't cling to your clothes, your jacket, or any friends you're close to (ever hug someone and their perfume or cologne clung to you after interacting with them)

Photobucket
Paris Hilton for Men

I love the way this smells! (as you can probably tell by how damn near gone it is!). It's very light and natural smelling if that makes any sense? It has a nice cool smell with a cucumber undertone. I usually wear it on cooler summer days when I'm relaxing with friends. It smells great but not overbearing. It's one of those fragrances you have to actually be near a person to smell. (I know I would rather someone smell how good I am when next to me rather than when I step in the room). It has decent longevity too. When I put a spray or two on after I get out of the shower it's still there halfway through the day.

Photobucket
Fahrenheit Christian Dior

Okay.... I'm torn over this one. It's strong. Not bad strong or obnosious smelling. But strong. This fragrance packs alot of punch. It truly is one where a little goes a long way. I find it best when applied in a samll increment out of the shower and before applying lotion (to tame soem of hte scent). I find that as the day goes on and it's effect wears off it get's better. Unfortunatly I find after a day working 2 jobs it smells great when I finally get home. One of htose fragrances that smells better and better as it wears off. My only downfall is how I feel. If I smell it for too long I get lightheaded and start to get migraines and occasionally it makes me naseaus(sp??) to the point where I throw up. Def. not something I can wear often even though it's occasionally nice.

Photobucket
Dolce&Gabbana

I LOVE this fragrance! It's pretty much one of my top 3 I can wear anywhere anytime. As you can tell it's prety much gone. I've got a drop left I'm clinging to until I get a chance to stop into Macy's and grab another one! It's light yet not floral or citrusy. It's def masculine yet more of a brisk clean vs the woodsy/musky alot of mens fragrances tend to be. It has great wear power. Yet it also maintains. It smells just as great at the end of the day as it did when I first applied it in the morning. It's soemthing I put on when I'm not sure what I'm quite in the mood for. It's a great standby for when you wanna smell clean and fresh all day long and know you smell good!

Photobucket
Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue

Like it origional formation I LOVE this versiona s well. It is a lighter more airy version. I also find it has a slightly floral undertone. Normally I would question it. But with this particular fragrance it still maintains a distinct masculine smell. I find it does have great staying power. IUnlike origional Dolce&Gabbana though not only is it lighter but it does get lighter as the day goes on. But despite getting lighter it's more of an airy version of how it smells when first applied. It's also one of those great fragrances. It smells great but it's also one that you have to be near the wearer to actually smell it. I highly recommend it.

Photobucket
GUCCI

What can I say? I really love how this smells. It's light and airy. However it has stayign power. It does get more airy as the day goes on. But stays true to it's origional aromatic undertones. It's light but has a slight sandlewood undertone with hints of floral aromas here and there. A bit pricey but def. worth it. It's also a fragrance that works well int he workplace because of how clean it is. Yet it can be worn out because of how seductive it the senses feeling at the same time. I would almost say it has a slightly "flirtatious" smell as well.

Well that's it for now. I have plenty of more I'll probably do when I have more time. But I pretty much covered my basics.

Random

I've been wanting some new thing sfor my skincare routine randomly. I normally shop for varied items but feel drawn to skincare more so than before. I think I may order from Lush.com they have soem intersting skincare items.

Here are a few I'm intersted in getting.....

Honey I Washed The Kids

Photobucket

According to the website:

Sweet honey heaven cleanses and moisturizes sensitive skin
Imagine pulling the comb straight out of the hive, slathering that divine honey all over, then being showered by a delicate spring rain. Honey I Washed The Kids handmade soap calms sore, sensitive epidermis with a rich aloe vera lather and leaves skin silky smooth and deliciously satiated. Slight hints of bergamot and orange lift your spirit and lull you into an intoxicating honey bliss.

Ice Blue (especially appealing)

Photobucket

According to the website:

Intense peppermint soap cools, cleans and refreshes
Do you enjoy dipping into cool blue waters as a way to beat the summertime heat? Or just need something to get you going in the morning? Sounds like you need Ice Blue soap. The name says it all. It is icy, leaves trails of peppermint lather on your skin and its crisp shade of blue is reminiscent of Arctic icebergs. Ah, how refreshing!

Queen Of Hearts Complexion Soap (Especially appealing as well)

Photobucket

According to the website:

Rose petals and softening oils give faces the royal treatment
Queen of Hearts is one of the few LUSH soaps you can wash your face with. Why? It's gentler on your face than body soaps because it's made with a base of rose petal infusion. (Please don't use our other soaps on your face; they're designed for much stronger skin.) Cocoa butter keeps skin flexible while moisturizing almond and balancing geranium oils make skin soft; the Queen cleans without drying out your face. If you must wash your face with soap, please choose this one.

Bohemian

Photobucket

According to the website:

Lemon drops for clean, poetic inspiration
Ah, to live the Bohemian life: dressing in thrift-shop finery, sipping espresso at sidewalk cafes, scribbling verse and chatting with local luminaries by day, then tripping the light fantastic by night wearing nothing but velvet and kohl. Romantic, yes, but the artistic lifestyle can be tiring. This lemon soap is the perfect muse for the voluptuary in need of a lift. Deep-cleaning lemon freshens spotty skin, and its uplifting scent is the perfect follow-up to a night of decadence.

There are plenty more! But my eyes tend to be bigger than my wallet so I will keep this blog limited to what I'm seriously considering buying this week.

I most likely will buy at least 2 or 3 of these (if not all of them). I just hope I don't go overboard>>>Than I'd end up having to do a whole LUSH overhaul!

Blondie...

So... Yes.. Once again I've gone blonde... I was bored with the black. cut my hair off and after boring myself by looking at my auburn hair I opted to go blonde again. It's not as damaged as it was the last time. Probaly because I don't have multiple bleachings ontop of hair that's already been colored within an inch of it's life. Other than that bored... Over worked, under paid... And soo over extended on time. I feel as though I constantly need to be able to view myself in a different way. I suppose it's like they say the grass is always greener...

And on a lighter note I have actually been explained how to post pictures on my blog from another member on here (Thanks again Jen!) So.. I will soon be able to actually do more of the blogging that I want to. (Such as the eye brow dying tutorial I wanted to post some time ago!). boring I know.. But hey I'm sure someone will benefit from my rambling! Hey who knows.. I also plan on doing a lens review... Don't wear make up (hey I have style but I'm not THAT into my looks.. This guy doesn't go that far...) But I do have an array of lenses I've been wanting to do a thurough review of for a while. since I actually have come across quite a few blogs of other members reviewing them I figured "why not".

Gym??

I think I need to join a gym....

I just dread the thought of going by myself.

I wanan go for myself. But hten there's the comfort level. I will know noone there. I will have noone to communicate with. On one hand it could be good for me.

I could go and concentrate on what I need to. I can get my workout(s) in. Get my goals accomplished. I would be able to work hard at getting my body in better shape (and getting myself healthier overall) with little to no distraction.

But despite my somewhat outgoing personality I still feel akward when in public settings where many or all people around me are those whom I don't know. I get even more self concious (Sp?) than I normally am. I start to critique myself and pick out everything possibly wrong with myself that I think others would and dwell on it... (I know there is probably an issue there).

It's not just the familiarity. I also feel uncomfortable around a room full of people in fit or beyond fit shape. It makes me feel akward and uncomfortable. I'm one who's normally confident in my own skin but feel self concious to the point of being akward and nervous when I feel I stick out in a bad way.

I really should do it. I feel as though I am getting my life on a healthier track but I should also be adding some sort of excercise routine to my diet and meal plans to step it up and achieve even better results.

I suppose I should try and talk one of my friends into going with me. Hell I'd even pay so I don't feel akward and like an outcast.

Pretty random and boring blog I know! But I doubt it will get much review anyways.

I will be sure to update with any decision I end up making.

So Over Blonde....

So I ended up going blonde after all. It was fun. It felt interestibng again. I even noticed custoemrs approached me in a more friendly manner once I went back to blonde....

But I'm soo over it now.. Random I know. So I picked up some Garnier 100% Color Blue Black.

I will be dying my hair tonight. This also means what must be done is my eye brows as well.

I'm having trouble deciding if I want to dye them dark brown, soft black, jet black or blue black. They def. have to be dyed darker because my hair as a whole would look stupid with blue blakc hair and blonde/auburn eyebrows.

And because many of my friends are promting me to explain to them how I dye my eye brows I think I may post a tutorial on them as well.

Well bored for now. Getting ready to go tanning and grab some last minute things at the TarGet' >It's supposed to read Tar-Jhea> Cos Target just sounds too bargain huntery for me...

On another random note I have more than 43 pairs of flip flops... And I baught somemore last week... I have to go through my closet before I go shopping next time.....

Blonde Ambition

Damn... I miss being blonde...

I don't know. It's something about that color!

I've been everything from bleach blonde, to godlen blonde, to honey and ash too.

I generally went to a different color after though. I can't help but think I had a greater confidence in myself with that color of hair on myself.

Even through breakage ond over processing I loved the result, damaged or not..

I am at a turnstill. I really want to go back to blonde...And I just dyed my hair blue black again.....

What to do...What to do...

I may wait until May to work my way back. Rid the dye. Get it chocolate brown. Work my way to golden brown..Than BLONDE again! I want to be blonde soo bad...But my hair has suffered sooo much damage.. I have spots of my hair that are so thin now from over processign and breakage. I mean I have hair on my crown JUST now coming back in as of these last few months from a real bad bleach breakage....And it;s not as thick as it was before. And yet I still want blonde.

In retrospect I guess it's fortunate I'm a male. After all I could just shave it all off if it were to get so damaged it would stop growing back in patches.

But then I'd have to get ridiculousy thin and tan.... Tan does sound hot..

Tan and Blonde... Well maybe dark golden blonde to be safe...

I will most likely still wrap my mind around it as I get closer.

Here's to hoping I can tempt myself into achieving it in a way not so damaging next time!

Dying

Well I had been bored recently.

I stripped all of the black dye off of the top of my hair but left my eyebrows colored black.
I am temporarily bored with the black. I know I will go back to either Jet or Blue Black come weeks end. Tht being said I've decided to have some fun and play around with my hair color for the time being.

Lord knows my hair get's chemically processed enough so I am NOT using permenant hair coloring. The method I have been using is applying temporary hair color to my stripeed hair.
The color it achieved was my natural auburn shade. Recently red has been the color I've played with.

I started with just the recommended tint. Good saturation of the hair. Proper timing. Washing thuroughly and conditioning after. The result was noticable. A good red. Light and noticable.

The pop was lacking though. Realising I will go brown around Friday before going back to black I opted for another application tonight.

Shockingly it came out a very nice fire engine type of red. POP is the effect this color has! Looking at it I am shocked I like it this much. Probably because knowing me it won't stay this shade for long. Eventully my natural tendency to change my color will kick in. I'll wash this repeatedly until all of the color is gone, dry and then apply a different temp.

The shade is great for now. I got quite a few compliments on the tint applied to my natural color before. Alot of people also asked me how I obtained the color result I did. They look pleasently surprised when I explain it's simply a temp/rinse of color.

I will try to put a pic up on here at some point of it.

For now I will be retiring. I have to leave for work in 5 hours and need at least 4 of sleep to function.

Ciao!

Tanorexic

We've been having a surge of decent weather where I live lately. Not sunshine and daisys but sunshine, chills and MELTING snow! (I suppose if you don't live where snow is a witner staple it's not a problem. But for some of us who do it is).

Well I've gone the route of tanning again recently. I am one of those people who prefers the healthy look of tanned skin. It makes you look more youthful, healthy, and put together. I am preparing to hop in a tanning bed soon. but I've opted for airbrushing until then. It get's to expensive to keep it up like I do so I won't lie. I maintain it at home with a self tanner.

There are plenty of ones on the market. When keeping it up at home I prefer to use the following. L'Oreal Paris Dermo Expertise Sublime Bronze aerosal self tanner. I grb the streak free medium shade when I get it. It supposedly coems in light and dark as well..I've personally yet to see it. I have olive/tan skin naturally with a slight golden undertone. This particular shade works well with my natual coloring once developed. It also works well when applied over a uv tan or a natural tan in the summer.

Occassionally I will use a lotion. This is generally when I don't have time to go to an actual tanning salon and need a good base. I prefer to have some sort of a base tan before applying an aerosal tan whether at home or not. I use Banana Boat Summer Color Sunless Tanner Tinted Lotion in Light/Medium. I occasionally use Deep/Dark but usually only after having an actual UV or Natural tan. It's a good base over my natural color. It also helps create a more natural effect with the aerosal tan while adding a good depth. I personally turn a nice bronze color with this, but I know some individuals who are naturally fairskinned who can occasionally turn slightly orange from using it.

For upkeep I use Jergans Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer for medium skintones. This is a daily moisturizer that also contains a tint that gradually applies a tan to the user. I like this as a daily moisturizer for my skin period. In the summer and winter my skin can get particularly dry so I need a good moisturizer. I also have sensitive skin prone to breakouts and this does a good job of not clogging my pores. If you use it daily with a self tannner or UV/Natural Tan as a good, effective way up maintaining the color you've achieved. It can also be used year round on it's own as a good way to create and maintain a natural glow/tan to the skin. I use this year round regardless.

Just basically it. I finished applying my layer of aerosal to keep up my spray tan's I've been having applied lately. Well I'm getting tired and bored so this is it. Feel free to leave any thought or comments regarding this. Or any you use!

Full Of Thoughts And Confusion

Well it's 10:03 pm and I'm bored. My mind has been running ragged lately. I feel as though I have so many things to discuss but not enough time to discuss them with anyone. As spring nears I am filled with a sense of WOW. I look so forward to it.

I know it probably seems crazy but I look forward to it. Change of wardrobe. Healthy weather. Getting out of the house again! It's so dreaful looking at the winter atmosphere. I don't mind the snow. But I will not be sad to see it go.

I will be getting my eating routine in even tighter gear. Went down a size in tops and pants and want to keep losing. Basically trying to get ready for summer. Have to step out for my birthday.

I'll have plenty more to come soon. Stay tuned. As I said I'm confused and full of thoughts as of now.

Look forward to getting them out on here!

Keep safe and stay fresh! Gregg...
